Elm Street Art Studio
Keller, TX
In 2016, my interest turned to abstract painting. The work displayed at Elm Street Studio is an ongoing study and experimentation in watermedia abstract painting. Inspired by the Japanese aesthetic of Wabi-Sabi, I integrate freeform lines and shapes in my abstract paintings. Unless I have a specific theme in mind, I begin with some calligraphic lines without a preconceived idea or result. In the process of interplaying lines and shapes spontaneously, an idea emerges, and the painting reveals something new to which my intuition and emotion respond. This spontaneous decision process leads to fascinating and unconventional results. Please visit the Elm Street Studio in Keller, TX, to meet the artist on Friday, March 24, 2017,from 6 to 8 p.m., with a complimentary reception.
